A Unique Childcare Experience
Rib Mountain Montessori has a classroom for children ages four months through two years. This is a lovely, sunny room, with a separate room for sleeping and an outdoor area. The children play, eat and sleep on their own schedule. There are a maximum of eight babies in this classroom. The staff is gentle, kind and nurturing.

Rib Mountain and Montessori Children's Village each has a classroom of children ages two through three and a classroom of children ages three through six. The children are provided an environment where they are able to grow and learn about themselves and about their world.

In collaboration with the Wausau School District both locations offer a tuition free four year old Kindergarten program from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., as well as, an all day session from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Rib Mountain location offers a before and after school program that services Rib Mountain Elementary School .

Along with our full Montessori preschool classroom curriculum we provide a variety of activities including art, music, creative movement, field trips and optional swimming through the YMCA (Children's Village location only). Outside resource people from the community, including our great parents, are also used for sign language, foreign language, curriculum enhancement and cultural enrichment.

Montessori Elementary Charter School
In 1993 parents formed together and worked to begin a Montessori Elementary School program; that program thrived as a private school for twelve years. In September of 2005, the elementary program began a new journey as a Charter School under the Wausau School District. The school's Montessori identity is kept, but families do not pay a tuition fee. Enrollment for five year old kindergarten and up is currently available.
